Julie Pequin is the owner and operator of Julie Pequin Yoga, teaching since 2019. Her love of life is deeply rooted in the practice of yoga, and she considers herself a forever student — continuously learning, evolving, and weaving new teachings into her classes. With nearly seven years and thousands of hours of teaching experience, Julie is known for her intuitive, “add-lib” style, rarely teaching the same sequence twice.
Born and raised in British Columbia and calling Alberta home for over 26 years, Julie balances her yoga teachings with a 28-year career as a frontline healthcare professional, primarily in rehabilitation. She remains deeply inspired by the privilege of working alongside residents, families, volunteers, and colleagues, and this experience strongly influences her trauma-informed, compassionate approach to movement and wellness.
julie has always had a passion for fitness and heart health, now blended with a growing focus on longevity. She continues to study and practice the ancient teachings of Ayurveda, applying what feels supportive from the inside out.
Julie Pequin Yoga offers weekly beginner and intermediate classes across four different styles, as well as specialty classes, workshops, half-day and full-day retreats, overnight retreats, and collaborative offerings with fellow teachers.
Her training includes 200-hour and 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training, Yin Yoga Levels 1 & 2, Yoga Nidra Levels 1 & 2, Meditation, Restorative Yoga, Chair Yoga, Trauma-Informed Yoga, Aromatherapy Level 1, and she is currently completing an Ayurveda Diploma.
Outside of the studio, Julie enjoys time with her husband, grown children, grandchildren, and family pup. She loves reading, crafting, cooking, sitting in the sun, gathering with family and friends, seeing life from new perspectives — and her favorite color is purple.
Julie looks forward to welcoming you to the mat and sharing practices that support health, happiness, and connection.
